Sunset Bay Fundraising As a non profit organization, we rely heavily on sponsorship from local businesses in order to remain active. This sponsorship allows us to purchase and maintain new and existing equipment in order to ensure the safest environment for our members to train in. $ Sunny Money $ Sunny money is the fundraising component of membership with Sunset Bay Outriggers. With a small but continuously expanding members base and everyone juggling the responsibilities of daily life, the committee often struggles for assistance from all members to assist with the work load associated with fundraising efforts. Sunny Money provides members with an incentive to assist with fundraising and club participation which assist us to purchase new canoes that retail around $15,000 each as well as new equipment for use by members and the running of our club. The remainder of the annual fee’s cover yearly expenses as well as registration, transportation and maintenance (see About Us for further details).

By becoming involved in the various activities the club runs outside the rigors of training and daily life, members can reduce their annual fee’s by up to $100.00 in Sunny Money. Sunny Money earnt is rolled over annually and contributes to the following years fee’s. |

It is the responsibility of all members to ensure they maintain their contribution towards Sunny Money in order to gain credit. Members must ensure to sign the Sunny Money book at each event to ensure accuracy of records. If you don’t sign, you may not be eligible to gain the Sunny Money credit at the end of the season. Only activities and roles minuted at meetings will be accepted as proof of Sunny Money credit if you do not sign the club book.

News
All club members please note that it is now MANDATORY for all outrigger craft (OC1, OC2, OC6 and 12’s) to carry nationally approved PFD’s type 1, 2 or 3. There must be one jacket per paddler during ALL paddling sessions including training, personal training and racing according to Maratime safety regulations. All PFD’s must be easily accessible and conform to regulations. All canoes discovered not to be abiding by this ruling face disciplinary action.
All canoes on the water in low light or low visibility conditions must have a light in order to be visible to other vessels and users of the water. Where possible, training should only take place in good light and high visibility.
All members are responsible for reading and agreeing to the terms outlined in the Sunset Bay Risk Management policy which can be accessed on the Members page.
